Here Comes October.....

Wow, I have so much to tell you about!  I can FINALLY disclose one exciting thing about my life that will be changing.  I got a new job!!!  That may not seem super exciting to most of you, but let me tell you, it feels amazing.  The job I am finishing tomorrow, without going into detail, was by far the easiest but also the most stressful job I have ever had.  It was a horrible environment for me, and I can't tell you how happy I am to get out of it.  My new job starts Tuesday in a different department of the same university but it's closer to my house.  This is awesome for two reasons.  One: we will save loads on gas.  Two: when the roads suck in the winter, I won't have to drive all the way to the other side of town to get to work.  I hate driving on icy/snowy roads.  So bring it on, winter!  (Okay, just kidding.  Even though I have about a two mile commute now, I'd still appreciate dry roads.)  Also, I will be getting more hours and a bit of a pay increase, which is also going to be a huge blessing.  I'm cleaning out my desk today!!!!!  It feels great!

I got my awesome Bandolino Castalina boots in the mail last week, and they're great!  Aside from being just a teensy bit big around the calf, they're perfect.  Since I saved so much money on them in the first place, I might take them to a cobbler to see what it would cost to get the boot shaft made smaller.  I know they can sew it, and I would attempt it myself, except I don't really want to ruin a pair of boots that I won't be able to buy for that cheap ever again.  I'll let you know how it goes!

As for wearing tall riding boots for short people, I have discovered that leggings and long sweaters or sweater dresses work the best.  I also think that getting a boot with a calf that fits snugly will look much better too.  Do you know who looks awesome in riding boots?  Kate Middleton.  You know, the Duchess of Cambridge?  She is such a snappy dresser.  Look at this:

Granted, she has a little more money than I do, but her outfits would be so easy to re-create!  Now if I could only re-create her long, model legs.  Hmmmmm.
