That's right... we're halfway there!!! There is officially ONE baby in there. Baby R is looking great and growing right on schedule. Officially, the due date is now September 2 instead of September 4, but chances are pretty good that since this is baby #1 for us that he/she will take their sweet time getting here anyway. Or so I have heard from other first time moms.
Baby is weighing in at a whooping 12 ounces, and everything is growing proportionately. I'm a big fan of the head staying nice and smallish. Baby cooperated nicely with the ultrasound tech and we got all the pictures we needed but one. This kid sure seems to enjoy thumb-sucking already, as we saw on several occasions. Again, if you can tell from the above pictures if Baby R is a girl or boy, don't ruin it for us! We feel so confident in our poor ultrasound picture reading that we are thouroughly confused, and that's the way we want it!
This kid kicks so much, I wonder when he/she ever gets any sleep! I'm grateful, of course, to know that everything is smooth sailing down in baby land, but it sure would be nice to lay down and not have to stay awake for an hour or more waiting for this little kangaroo to settle down. The ultrasound tech even felt baby rolling around, and she seemed pretty excited by that.
We are overjoyed with the blessing of this little one, and so thankful that God has preserved baby's health and mine throughout this first half of baby's life in utero. We thank all of you for your loving support and ask that you continue to keep all three of us in your prayers.

Hello sweet baby!!! We are SO ANXIOUS to meet you! But your mommy says we need to be patient - we will try very hard. :) It is such a gift to be able to peek into your private, hidden world. God is forming you in a special and unique way - there is no one else like you. Your mom and dad love you so much,and you have a big family that's primed for spoiling you. They will all need to wait in line after all of your grandparents. You are a very blessed baby to even have a great grandfather!!
